Big Brother There is a new baby in your house! There will be a lot of changes with a new baby. This is what happens when there is a new baby in your family. There might be more people in your house. They will be coming to see the new baby. Always wash your hands before touching the baby. Only pick up the baby if mom says you can. Babies can't talk yet so they cry when they need something. When the baby is crying you might be angry. Cover your ears take a deep breath and use your words. Ask for a hug. Babies need help with their diapers. Babies need mom or other adults to feed them. You can help with the new baby. Ask mom what you can do to help. The new baby is going to learn a lot from watching you. The baby will be happy and love you very much. 1- Don't pick up the baby. Let an adult do it. 2- If the baby cries use your words to tell. 3- If the baby does something you don't like use your words to tell an adult. Sometimes you might have an idea what you want to do but you might need to be flexible. Being flexible means that you can help mom out by waiting or being ok when things change. You might need to wait. Mom will let you know when it is time to do your idea. Maybe you can even set a timer. You might need to play and wait until mom is not busy. The new baby is going to love having a big brother like you to play with! People love you so much and love it when you help with the baby! There are lots of changes at home and the whole family will have to help each other! Your mom can tell you how. One thing that doesn't change is how much she loves you!! ChildrenFirst
